European foreign ministers confirm their support for Ukraine
(MENAFN) On Friday, European foreign ministers confirmed their assistance for Ukraine after a G7 talk in Canada.
“We all agree we need a just and lasting peace. We all agree that the ball is now firmly in Russia’s court. There is a ceasefire deal on the table. Russia must agree to end the fighting,” British Foreign Secretary David Lammy posted on X.
Italy’s Antonio Tajani confirmed that he held discussions together with his peers separately to reach peace in Ukraine as well as achieving bilateral partnership with G7 nations.
He expressed that ties between the United States and Italy are “solid” and “forward-looking,” emphasizing that they have reached a joint decision that Europe is required to invest furthermore in defense as well.
“I reiterated the need for dialogue to avoid trade wars,” he posted on X.
He stated along with his French peer, Jean-Noel Barrot, that they confirmed the “importance” of working on European “competitiveness” as well as a “peaceful future” by reinforcing defense competences in association with NATO.
