Former Tropical Cyclone Alfred continues to drop heavy rain over Australia

(MENAFN) Previous Tropical Cyclone Alfred remained to drop vast amounts of precipitation over wide areas of southeast Queensland as well as northern New South Wales (NSW) during landfall, flooding streets as well as leaving thousands of houses without electricity while hundreds of schools left closed, as reported by local media on Monday.

Over 238,000 houses as well as businesses are left without electricity in both states, whereas over the northeast, 20,300 individuals have been reported to flee their homes, as announced by an Australian news agency.

The former tropical storm arrived at Queensland’s coast on Saturday as a “tropical low” following 16 days as a cyclone.
