Warner, Gallagher say TikTok is threatening US
(MENAFN) Previous United States Congressman Mike Gallagher mentioned that the act of prohibiting the famous video-posting platform TikTok was gone until the Oct. 7, 2023 assault done by the Palestinian party Hamas on Israel, which resurrected the law.
Senator Mark Warner and previous Wisconsin Delegate Gallagher talked about the banning of TikTok at the Munich Security Conference.
Warner along with Gallagher initially started by presenting the act, which assumed that TikTok was an internal safety danger to the United States.
Warner told Gallagher, "I want to see if you're going to tell the real story."
"So we had a bipartisan consensus. We had the executive branch, but the bill was still dead until Oct. 7th. And people started to see a bunch of anti-Semitic content on the platform and our bill had legs again." Gallagher stated.
In March 2024, the US House of Representatives accepted an act asking TikTok's original company, ByteDance, to sell its United States processes to a company that has zero connections to the Chinese government or deal with a ban on the TikTok platform countrywide.
