Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rejects Employees Dismissal Act 2025, Calls It Unconstitutional


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi strongly opposes the Employees Dismissal Act 2025, rejecting it on constitutional grounds. He states that the bill violates fundamental rights outlined in Supreme Court and Sindh High Court rulings.

Governor Kundi has demanded amendments to the bill, arguing that it deprives provincial employees of their right to appeal , which is a direct violation of Article 10A of the constitution -a provision ensuring fair judicial proceedings.

He further criticized the bill's retroactive nature, calling the invalidation of past legal recruitments unconstitutional , warning that such measures could create challenges for the provincial government .

Call for Accountability and Transparency

The governor emphasized that action should be taken against officials responsible for illegal appointments , rather than punishing employees indiscriminately. He also recommended that employees recruited with the approval of the Election Commission be exempted from the bill's provisions.

Potential Legal Challenges for the Government

Governor Kundi urged the provincial government to reconsider the bill, cautioning that if passed in its current form, it could face legal challenges . He stressed the need for transparency and fairness , adding that not only employees but also the officials responsible for their recruitment should be held accountable .
