(MENAFN) Former US President Donald Trump has expressed his expectation that his close ally Elon Musk will uncover significant fraud and misuse within both the Pentagon and the Department of Education. In an interview with Fox News’ Brett Baier, released before the Super Bowl, Trump outlined his plans to have Musk investigate these two key departments.

“I’m going to tell him very soon, maybe within 24 hours, to look into the Department of Education. He’s going to find the same thing. Then I’ll say, let’s check the military,” Trump shared. He went on to predict that the audit would reveal “billions, hundreds of millions of dollars of fraud and abuse,” highlighting the importance of reducing wasteful government spending, which he had promised during his presidency.

Trump also praised Musk, calling him “terrific” and stressing that Musk is not motivated by personal gain. "I even wonder how he manages to find the time for it," Trump added. Musk, a strong Trump supporter, is currently serving as a “special government employee” leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an initiative focused on reducing federal spending.
