Palestinians in Gaza Strip firmly express their commitment to their land

(MENAFN) Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have firmly expressed their commitment to their land, rejecting U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to control Gaza, displace its residents, and place its security under Israeli Occupation forces. Demonstrations and statements condemning the plan have also emerged in the West Bank, calling for resistance against any efforts to displace Palestinians.

In Gaza, Palestinian forces, factions, and tribes unified around a common stance to resist any attempts to displace Gaza’s residents, who have already endured the hardships of a prolonged siege, famine, and massive destruction caused by Israeli military aggression during more than 15 months of war. Despite the extensive destruction of infrastructure and the displacement of a large portion of Gaza's population, many Palestinians returned to their homes after the ceasefire agreement, showing their unwavering attachment to the land. Hamas strongly rejected Trump’s hostile remarks, stating that such plans would destabilize the region and promising to resist any attempt to impose foreign control over Palestinian lands. They called for a firm international stance in support of Palestinian rights and sovereignty, including the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu set new conditions for advancing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, which could complicate efforts to maintain peace. Netanyahu insisted that Hamas leaders must be removed from Gaza and opposed the withdrawal of Israeli forces from certain areas, potentially leading to the continuation of the conflict. This new set of demands is seen as a tactic to pressure Hamas into making further concessions, particularly regarding prisoners, military withdrawal, and safe zones in Gaza.
