HMC Conference To Enhance Patient Care Through Regional Collaboration, Innovation

DOHA: The General Internal medicine (GIM) team at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) recently hosted the 6th Qatar International Internal Medicine (6-QIIM) Conference, at the Sheraton Grand Doha & convention Hotel, Qatar.

In line with HMC's vision of patient care excellence, the 6-QIIM conference aimed to provide a high-level scientific platform addressing significant topics in internal medicine and related subspecialties. Conference highlights included distinguished plenary lectures where renowned speakers discussed critical issues, in-depth symposia focusing on specialised areas within internal medicine, and hands-on workshops featuring procedure training, including Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) sessions. Additionally, the conference offered“Meet the Expert” sessions, providing attendees with opportunities for direct interaction with leading local, regional, and international experts.

The conference's turnout was exceptional, with 1,406 attendees comprising 536 online participants from various countries, including Qatar, Australia, Austria, India, KSA, UAE, UK, Oman, and the Philippines, alongside 870 onsite attendees. This attendance reflects healthcare professionals' commitment to advancing the internal medicine field. Attendees engaged in meaningful discussions, exchanged valuable insights, and fostered professional relationships, setting the stage for future collaborations and innovation in patient care.

Throughout the three days, the 6-QIIM Conference showcased contributions from esteemed speakers and faculty from national institutions such as HMC, Qatar University, and Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, along with representatives from international organizations, including the American College of Physicians (ACP) and the Royal College of Physicians (RCP-UK). This collaboration underscored a commitment to scientific excellence and continuous professional development.
