Russia's Economy Shows Resilience Amid Sanctions, Says Prime Minister Mishustin

(MENAFN) Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin declared on Friday that Russia has successfully navigated unprecedented sanctions, unlike the countries that imposed them. Speaking during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, Mishustin highlighted that Russia’s Economy has shown steady growth for the second consecutive year, despite external pressures.

“The economy of the country has successfully withstood unprecedented sanctions, unlike many nations that imposed them. In some cases, their situation is close to stagnation,” Mishustin said.

He credited the government’s strategic measures, along with the efforts of experts and businesses, for the nation's economic resilience. Industrial production, in particular, played a key role in driving growth, surpassing expectations with an 8.5 percent increase.

President Putin also acknowledged Russia's strong economic performance, noting that the country’s 4.1 percent GDP growth exceeded projections and outperformed other major economies. “In the United States, growth was 2.8 percent, which is a good result. In the eurozone, it was more modest—France grew by 1.1 percent, and Germany’s economy even contracted by 0.2 percent,” Putin said. “These are their problems; we know what they are related to.”
