Drone Activities On India-Pak Border: AAP's Sandeep Pathak Gives Zero Hour Notice In Parliament

(MENAFN- Live Mint) Aam Aadmi Party's Member of Parliament Sandeep Pathak gave Zero Hour notice in Parliament on Monday to discuss drone activities on the India-Pakistan border. The Rajya Sabha member raised the alarm over the illegal supply of weapons and drugs on India-Pakistan borders to Punjab districts.

In his notice, Pathak expressed concerns over illegal drug supply to Punjab from Pakistan with the help of drones and urged the Centre to take stringent action in the matter. He also stressed the use of highly advanced counter-drone technologies on the Indo-Pak border to thwart drug trafficking in India .

"Over the past few years, there has been an unprecedented rise in such incidents. In 2023, security forces seized 107 drones along the Punjab border, whereas by November 2024, nearly 200 drones had been seized. These confiscated drones were found carrying weapons and drugs," he said.

In his letter to the Secretary General of Rajya Sabha, Pathak mentioned the large-scale use of drones by Pakistan to spread narcotics and violence in Punjab.

He also claimed that a large number of drones have been detected by people near agricultural fields in Pakistan . Calling the entry of drones from Pakistan as a massive national security threat, the AAP MP underlined the need to expose Pakistan's conspiracy to push Indian youth into drug addiction at the international level.

"Moreover, Pakistan's conspiracy to push Indian youth, especially in Punjab, into drug addiction must be exposed at the international level. At the same time, the world's most advanced drone interception systems should be deployed along the border to ensure that no drone from Pakistan is able to enter Indian territor ," he said.
