Aegis Aerospace Partners With Texas A&M University To Create Dedicated Flight Facility On The ISS For University Research
"It is an honor to partner with and help elevate space research for my alma mater," shared Aegis Aerospace CEO and Chairman Stephanie Murphy. "Creating the TAMU-SPIRIT truly demonstrates the tenacity, spirit and world-class leadership of Texas A&M and its space research."
Aegis Aerospace will own and operate the TAMU-SPIRIT test facility, and there will be an open call for experiments every six months for students, faculty and other researchers within the Texas A&M University System. Students and faculty will also partner in the on-going operations process.
The design for the TAMU-SPIRIT flight facility will be based on Aegis Aerospace's MISSE Flight Facility, the busiest permanent commercial flight facility on the ISS, with operations to start as early as 2027.
