Amb. Al-Hazeem: Portuguese Businessmen To Visit Kuwait Next Week

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MADRID, Feb 8 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to Portugal Hamad Al-Hazeem said that a delegation of Portuguese businessmen and company owners will visit Kuwait between February 18 and 21 with the aim of enhancing economic, investment and trade rapprochement between the two countries.
Ambassador Al-Hazeem added, in a statement to KUNA on Saturday, that the Kuwaiti embassy in Lisbon organized the visit in cooperation with the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, the Portuguese Industries Federation and the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He explained the visit would reflect the mutual desire to activate bilateral economic and trade relations and the embassy's efforts to open broader horizons for cooperation, as well as introduce Kuwait's major development projects and achievements in various fields.
Ambassador Al-Hazeem said that the initiative stems from the core work of the Kuwaiti diplomatic mission, pointing to the role played by Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in supporting such initiatives and strengthening Kuwaiti-Portuguese ties.
For his part, President of the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce Dr. Luis Philipe Menezes told KUNA that the visit would include business meetings with the Kuwaiti Chamber of Commerce and Industry, businessmen and local authorities.
He added that the mission would consist of more than 12 companies operating in various sectors, including civil construction, cybersecurity, tourism, security services and legal consultations.
Dr. Menezes pointed out that the visit would represent a step towards strengthening economic, trade and cultural relations between the two countries, praising the support and efforts of Ambassador Al-Hazeem in deepening bilateral cooperation.
Kuwait and Portugal celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In 2023, Kuwait hosted the first round of Kuwaiti-Portuguese political consultations to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields. (end)
