Amb. Al-Hayen: Joint Gulf Cooperation Pillar For Enhancing Int'l Peace

GENEVA, Feb 6 (KUNA) -- The Permanent Representative of Kuwait to the UN and other international organizations Ambassador Nasser Al-Hayen on Thursday stressed the significance of continued cooperation to strengthen peace security and the defense of shared values and principles.
His remarks came as he chaired the first meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ambassadors for 2025.
Speaking to KUNA, Ambassador Al-Hayen explained that the meeting held on Wednesday at the GCC Mission headquarters in Geneva under Kuwait's presidency reaffirmed the outcomes of the latest Gulf Summit.
He noted that the meeting focused on coordinating priorities for joint Gulf action within international organizations in Geneva adding that discussions included protecting legal frameworks and international agreements as well as ensuring unified engagement in the upcoming 58th session of the Human Rights Council scheduled to run from February 24 to April 4.
He stated that the ambassadors also reviewed key international developments and regional issues particularly the situations in Gaza Syria Lebanon and Sudan and underscored the need to enhance diplomatic and humanitarian efforts to address ongoing challenges and promote regional stability.
Ambassador Al-Hayen reaffirmed the GCC's commitment to actively supporting humanitarian and human rights issues through international organizations and emphasized the importance of aligning Gulf positions to advance the council's strategic objectives on the global stage. (end)
