Jordan To Update ICT Supply And Demand Gap Analysis

Amman, Feb. 5 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the Digital Skills Association, through the Youth, Technology, and Jobs project, have signed an agreement with Better Business and the Information and Communications technology Association (Int@j) to update the supply and demand gap analysis in Jordan's information and communications Technology (ICT) sector.
According to a statement by the Digital Skills Association on Wednesday, the study will evaluate the skills acquired by university and technical institute graduates and their alignment with labor market demands, aiming to enhance youth employability and drive economic growth.
The analysis will engage key stakeholders, including startups, investors, policymakers, and academic institutions, to identify challenges and recommend solutions that bridge the gap between education and industry needs.
Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat emphasized the agreement's significance in advancing Jordan's ICT sector.
Chairman of the Digital Skills Association Alaa Ensheiwat highlighted the study's role in creating a cohesive ecosystem that connects education with employment opportunities, marking the start of a collaborative effort to address industry challenges.
Chairman of Int@j Eid Sweis described the agreement as a key initiative to support the sector, ensuring that education outcomes align with market requirements and reinforcing Jordan's position as a regional hub for digital innovation.
Better Business General Manager Suhail Jouaneh stated that the study will provide data-driven insights to develop practical strategies that improve employment prospects and economic performance in Jordan's digital economy.
