Women-Led Startups From India Making A Global Mark: Minister Jitendra Singh

(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, Feb 4 (KNN) Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Monday highlighted the significant strides made by women-led startups in India, stating that they are leaving a global imprint across various sectors, including the traditionally male-dominated space industry.

Speaking to a delegation from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry-Ladies Organisation (FICCI-FLO), Singh emphasised that women entrepreneurs are at the forefront of innovation, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of women-led development.

He cited the example of ISRO's solar mission, Aditya L1, which is helmed by scientist Nigar Shaji, popularly known as ISRO's“Sunny Lady.”

“Women-led development is a key priority of Prime Minister Modi's governance agenda, and Indian women entrepreneurs have the potential to place India on the global map in the years to come,” said Singh, the Minister of State for Personnel.

He underscored the government's efforts to support women in business through various welfare initiatives, including PM MUDRA and PM Vishwakarma, which have significantly benefitted women entrepreneurs since 2014.

Singh further noted that under Modi's leadership, women's empowerment has moved beyond rhetoric to practical implementation.

“We have witnessed a paradigm shift where women are assuming leadership roles across professions, moving from participatory to decision-making positions,” he said.

The minister reiterated the government's commitment to providing employment opportunities to youth by combining traditional Indian values with modern advancements.

He pointed out that the government's initiatives have played a pivotal role in transforming India's work culture, fostering an environment conducive to innovation and entrepreneurship.

As India strengthens its position as a global innovation hub, women-led businesses are increasingly becoming game-changers. Singh's remarks reflect a growing recognition of their contributions, not just in business but in shaping the future of India's economy.

With sustained policy support and a conducive entrepreneurial ecosystem, the rise of women-led startups signals a new era of inclusive growth, making India a force to reckon with on the global stage.
