Ukraine's Defense Intel Launches Cyber Attack On Gazprom Source

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) On the anniversary of the Battle of Kruty, a cyber unit of Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate launched a DDoS attack on the digital infrastructure of Russia's gazprom and Gazpromneft.

This is reported by Ukrinform, referring to a source from the defense intelligence.

In particular, Ukrainian cyber professionals attacked the online services of the enterprises that support the activities of the Russian army.

From January 28, 2025, company clients were unable to use their personal account, use the companies' online services, pay for fuel using fuel cards, debit or accumulate bonuses on their account, etc.

In response to customer complaints, Gazprom reported that there was“a temporary technical failure”. At the same time, they did not explain the nature and causes of such“failure”.

So far, Russian companies do not say when online services may be restored.

As emphasized by the source, today's problems of Russian drivers are a greeting from the heroes of the Battle of Kruty, who over a hundred years ago fought back with“the criminal Russian gangs of drug addict Muravyov”.

A reminder that Kruty is one of the tragic and at the same time legendary pages in the history of the Ukrainian liberation struggle of 1917-1921. The Battle of Kruty took place on January 29, 1918, between Nizhyn and Bakhmach in the Chernihiv region, some 130 kilometers northeast of Kyiv, during an attack on Kyiv by Bolshevik troops led by Colonel Mikhail Muravyov.
