Qatar National Library To Host Engaging Events For February

Doha, Qatar: Qatar National Library (QNL) is set to inspire and engage the community throughout February with a diverse range of workshops, performances and cultural experiences. Whether you're a parent-to-be, an art enthusiast, a music lover or a budding writer, there's an event to matchyour interests. Taking center stage is the Qatar Reads' Parents to Be Festival, designed to provide valuable resources and expert guidance for parents navigating their parenting journey.
The month kicks off on February 1 with the workshop“A Glimmer of Hope for Lebanon”, a creative session designed to express solidarity with Lebanon through art. Attendees can participate by painting canvases or designing postcards that carry messages of hope.
On February 8, the Library will celebrate National Sport Day with a full day of activities and games, offering an exciting opportunity for families to engage in entertainingsporting challenges.
From February 13 to 15, the Qatar Reads' Parents to Be Festival takes center stage with a rich lineup of activities and experiences designed to support parents. The festival will feature a family market with a curated selection of products and books, as well as interactive workshops that foster a love of reading and learning.
On February 17, the Library invites participants to explore the world of Moroccan calligraphy in a hands-on workshop led by Youssef Hussein Al-Mallah. The workshop will highlight the history and techniques of Moroccan calligraphy, while celebrating renowned calligraphers who mastered the thuluth and Moroccan styles.
The cultural experience continues on February 20, with a musical evening presented by the Doha String Quartet. The concert will feature one of Schubert's most famous compositions, String Quartet No. 14, also known as“Death and the Maiden.”
Rounding out the month's events, QNL will host the“Write to Inspire: Short Story Writing Workshop” on February 22, offering guidance on crafting impactful 500-word stories. Participants will have the opportunity to submit their stories to be featured in QNL's Short Story Dispenser at the 34th Doha International Book Fair.
