This was reported by the South China Morning Post with reference to CCTV, Ukrinform saw.
Xi repeated Beijing's position on the war in Ukraine, stating that China has "repeatedly stressed" the need to adhere to the three principles, namely: "no expansion of the battlefield, no escalation of hostilities, and not fanning flames" – to strive for a swift de-escalation.
“China will continue to uphold its consistent position and work with the international community to create favorable conditions for a political solution to the crisis,” Xi told Medvedev.

According to Xi, the two countries should work closely together in multilateral structures such as BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the United Nations.
He also stressed that the ruling parties in the two countries will continue to strengthen coordination and cooperation to "lead global governance".
Also, according to Chinese media reports, Medvedev handed Xi a letter signed by Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, promising that Russia would "unwaveringly implement" the consensus of the two leaders on deepening strategic cooperation.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on September 24, during the UN Security Council, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that China's position on the settlement of Russia's war against Ukraine implies an immediate ceasefire and talks, as well as refraining from sanctions and economic pressure against one of the parties to the conflict.
