(MENAFN- UkrinForm) In a bid to enhance the safety of students and teachers amid the ongoing war, Lithuania will supply 100 metal detectors to Ukrainian schools.
That's according to the Lithuanian Interior Ministry, Ukrinform reports, citing Lithuania's broadcaster LRT .
According to the report, the assistance is valued at nearly EUR 300,000.
Lithuanian Interior Minister Agne Bilotaite noted that each of the provided tools strengthens the resilience of Ukrainians and helps protect the civilian population and officials during wartime.
"A hundred metal detectors mean a hundred safer schools and thousands of safer Ukrainian children. The Interior Ministry, together with its subordinate services, will continue to support Ukraine in every possible way," Bilotaite said.
Since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Lithuanian Interior Ministry has provided over EUR 7 million in aid, including vehicles, weapons, security equipment, food, hygiene supplies, and humanitarian assistance.
Plans for next year include equipping the Ukrainian police with advanced technology and enhancing protections for firefighters.
