Uzbekistan Compiles Range Of Projects In Liberated Territories Of Azerbaijan - Minister

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 13. Uzbekistan is preparing several projects in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov told reporters on the sidelines of COP29 in Baku, Trend reports.

“In addition to the school that was built in Fuzuli, a garment factory project was launched today. Nearly a thousand jobs have been created at it. This is a joint project with a 50/50 share between the Uzbek side and Azerbaijani companies, so this is a very significant event. We realize that this is the first foreign investment in the liberated territories aimed at creating industrial production. This is a serious signal. Now we are preparing a whole range of new projects, including an initiative to create production facilities for construction materials in these territories, as the demand will be quite high. Therefore, our business, the business of Uzbekistan, is very interested in such opportunities,” he said.

The minister highlighted that the manufacturing of construction materials, particularly in the liberated territories with the engagement of Uzbek enterprises, is viewed as an innovative avenue and initiative.

“We are talking about new projects for the production of pharmaceutical products and medical devices. In a word, there are a lot of opportunities to realize industrial cooperation projects. Projects worth more than $1.5 billion have been successfully formed,” he said.

Kudratov expressed confidence that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan will reach even greater heights.
