NDC Partnership Continues To Support Countries Around World - Minister Of Rwanda
"The NDC Partnership is moving forward on the roadmap to Mission 1.5, reaffirming our collective determination to ensure a sustainable and equitable future. There are only six years left until 2030, and our goal of keeping warming within 1.5 degrees Celsius requires not only ambition but also concrete action.
The NDC Partnership continues to support countries around the world in transforming their climate commitments into actionable plans that promote national development and sustainability. As we approach the important milestone of 2025, when it is necessary to submit the next round of nationally determined contributions, we have a unique opportunity to strengthen these indicators by increasing ambitions supported by sufficient funds to realize them," she said.
To note, the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 29) started in Baku on November 11. The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is an agreement signed at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992 to prevent dangerous human interference in the climate system.
The abbreviation COP in English means "Conference of the Parties", it is the highest legislative body overseeing the implementation of the Framework Convention on Climate Change.
