Value Chain Mechanism Development Needed For Azerbaijan's Naftalan Oil - Chairman
Nagiyev noted that Azerbaijan has rich and diverse potential in health tourism.
"Historically, the healing oil of Naftalan, the salt mountain in Nakhchivan, the Istisu springs in Kalbajar, and other natural therapeutic resources have gained regional and international recognition. Moreover, health tourism continues to thrive in areas such as Absheron, Shabran, Gabala, Lankaran, and Sheki, attracting both domestic and international tourists," he said.
He pointed out that recent years have seen significant efforts to develop various aspects of health tourism.
"This sector remains a focal point for the country's leadership. It is no coincidence that the document 'Strategic Roadmap for the Development of Specialized Tourism Industry in the Republic of Azerbaijan,' approved by the Presidential Decree of Ilham Aliyev, places special emphasis on the development of health tourism," Nagiyev added.
To note, Azerbaijan's State Tourism Agency is hosting a conference in Shusha titled "Health Tourism in Azerbaijan: Development Opportunities."
Participants include representatives from the State Tourism Agency, the special representative offices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Health, and around 200 experts in healthcare and medical tourism from Azerbaijan and several foreign countries.
The conference features panel sessions on topics such as "Health Tourism in Azerbaijan: Current Status and Opportunities," "Global and Successful Experience in Health Tourism: Proposals for Azerbaijan," and "Medical Tourism in Azerbaijan: A Look into the Future and Strategy."
