BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 3. Baku conference is
a very good platform to fight against French neocolonialism, an
activist from Mauritania, Brahim Ramdhane, told reporters, Trend reports.
“The Mauritanian government follows French policies because
France is still calling the shots there. We use French in our daily
communication and in our work. Our natural resources have been
looted by France. This has a very serious impact on our economy. We
are a small but rich country. But this behavior of France makes us
a poor country. I believe that Baku Initiative Group is a good
platform for our unity,” he said.
The international conference on French neo-colonialism in
Africa, organized by the Baku Initiative Group, started its work on
October 3.
The conference is attended by representatives of African
countries (Senegal, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau, the
Democratic Republic of Congo, Mauritania, Zimbabwe, and Niger), as
well as France and the French enslaved island of Mayotte.
