Kyrgyzstan's Bishkek Sets Up Turkic Heritage Center
According to him, the tasks of the center will include conducting fundamental research in archeology, history, ethnography, folklore, languages, and literature of Turkic peoples.
Osmonaliev noted that the work will not only be in the plane of theoretical research; it is planned to support programs aimed at studying and preserving historical and cultural sites and monuments of intangible heritage.
“In 2022-2023, the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Azerbaijan worked out the issue of establishing partnership relations between the International Foundation for Turkic Culture and Heritage (IFTCH), the headquarters of which is located in Baku, with KNU named after J. Balasagyn. Consequently, a memorandum of cooperation was signed, and, as a result, the Center of Turkic Heritage was established by the decision of the Academic Council of the university in early September this year. Soon it is expected to receive the corresponding grant of the IFTCH. I was offered to head this center,” he said.
Osmonaliev also mentioned that the center's activities are aimed at the mutual enrichment of Turkic cultures, learning traditions, and strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two nations.
