Turkmenistan, Dragon Oil Talk Fuel And Energy Sector Co-Op
During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to enhance their longstanding successful partnership, considering their accumulated experience and Turkmenistan's plans for developing its fuel and energy complex (FEC). Key priorities for this sector include increasing oil and gas production and processing, as well as boosting exports of Turkmen energy carriers and finished oil and gas chemical products.
President Berdimuhamedow highlighted the oil and gas sector as one of the most dynamic areas of the country's economy. He emphasized the promising prospects for expanding traditional cooperation and expressed Turkmenistan's readiness to consider specific proposals from Dragon Oil.
“The United Arab Emirates has rich experience in the fuel and energy sector,” the president stated, noting the positive dynamics of cooperation with leading UAE companies in this field.
Since May 2000, Dragon Oil has been developing the Jeitun and Dzhigalybeg oil fields in Turkmenistan, investing $8 billion in these projects.
