Azerbaijani C4IR, Turkish MEXT Technology Center Talk Production Automation Potentials

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 2. The representatives
of the Azerbaijani Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution
(C4IR) and the Turkish MEXT technology Center have discussed the
possibility of automation of production processes, the Ministry of
Economy of Azerbaijan told Trend .
At the initiative of C4IR under the Ministry of Economy of
Azerbaijan, representatives from the MEXT Technology Center,
affiliated with the Turkish Employers' Association of Metal
Industries, along with the management and staff of Azertexnolayn,
visited the steel pipe production plant at Sumgayit Chemical
Industrial Park.
The visit aimed to explore automation possibilities, review
current technologies, and broaden business connections.
The delegation first toured the plant's production processes and
testing laboratory, receiving comprehensive information on pipe
manufacturing and laboratory testing. During a subsequent meeting
in the plant's administrative building, discussions focused on
enhancing the digital database for process monitoring, pipe
production, centralized process management, and other operational
improvements.
To note, the Memorandum of Understanding signed between C4IR and
the Turkish Employers' Association of Metal Industries outlines
several cooperation areas. These include promoting digital literacy
in Azerbaijan's manufacturing sector, conducting assessments based
on the Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI), organizing reciprocal
visits to production sites with relevant stakeholders, and
establishing advanced production processes.
As part of this collaboration, SIRI assessment projects have
been successfully carried out at AzerGold and SOCAR Polymer.
Discussions are ongoing regarding the potential implementation of a
similar project at the steel pipe production plant.
