(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 30. Hidayat Heydarov possesses great strength, the 23-year-old French judoka Joan-Benjamin Gaba (73 kg) said, commenting on the final meeting with Hidayat Heydarov at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, Trend reports via Idman .

"The fight was absolutely incredible. I did more than my best. I aspired to gold. Although no one believed it, I did until the end. Of course, I am happy to win a medal. Next time, I will fight for the gold medal. I fought bravely this time, too. I don't blame anyone for the defeat," Gaba added.

Heydarov won Azerbaijan's first medal in France.
