Uzbekistan Records Increased Demand For Road Transportation Exports


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 27. The demand for road transportation exports in Uzbekistan grew by 29 percent in the second quarter of 2024, Trend reports.

According to the ATI Cargo Transportation Exchange, the number of requests for export freight transportation to Russia increased by 28 percent during this period. At the same time, export freight transportation to Kazakhstan grew by 13 percent and Belarus by 6 percent.

In addition, the number of applications for delivery of foreign cargoes to Uzbekistan decreased by 17 percent in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.

The applications for delivery of foreign cargoes to Uzbekistan from Russia decreased by 19 percent.

Meanwhile, road freight transportation in Uzbekistan amounted to 3.3 million tons from January through March 2024. This figure has increased by 10 percent compared to the same period last year (3 million tons in January–March 2023).

The volume of export cargo increased to 960,000 million tons from January through March 2024, while the imports of cargo totaled 1.8 million tons during this period.
