BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 23. Astana and Baku are
developing a project to export green energy from Kazakhstan through
Azerbaijan, said Kazakh Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel,
Trend reports.
He made the remark at the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan tourism forum,
organized in the embassy building.
According to the ambassador, mutually beneficial close trade and
economic cooperation have been established between the
countries.
At the same time, Bayel noted joint projects that play an
important role not only for the two countries but also for the
entire region (in particular, the importance of the Middle
Corridor).
The ambassador also touched upon cooperation in the field of
tourism and presented statistical data.
"Last year, 58,000 Kazakh tourists visited Azerbaijan. From
January through June 2024 alone, more than 38,000 Kazakh tourists
visited the country. In general, in terms of the growth dynamics of
the tourist flow to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan is in third place after
China and India.
To note, on May 1, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan signed
a Memorandum of Cooperation on the integration of energy systems in
Tashkent, which is based on the export of green energy from these
countries to Europe through the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia,
the Black Sea, Romania, Hungary, and further, if possible, to other
EU countries.
