CTD: Al Qaeda Leader Arrested In Punjab

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): Pakistan's Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has announced the arrest of al qaeda aide 'Aminul Haq Saam Khan' in the Sarai Alamgir area of Punjab province.

According to a BBC report, Aminul Haq was arrested in Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab.

Haq has been a close aide to Osama Bin Laden, the former leader of Al Qaeda.

A statement from CTD said:“In a breakthrough, senior Al Qaeda leader Aminul Haq, a close associate of Osama bin Laden, has been arrested during an intelligence-based operation. His name is also included in the United Nations (UN) sanctions list.”
