(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA))
JEDDAH, July 18 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the newly passed law by the Israeli occupation's parliament (Knesset) that deems Palestine's statehood an "existential threat" to the occupation.
The OIC stressed its continued backing of the two-state solution in a statement on Thursday, renewing its call on the international community to take responsibility, end the occupation and its colonial policies, and achieve peace in the region.
It also condemned the far-right Israeli occupation minister of national security Itamar Ben-Gvir for breaking in Al-Aqsa Mosque's courtyards along with occupation forces.
As the they also strongly condemned the occupation's policies that negatively affect the geography and demography of Jerusalem and their attempts to change the historic and constitutional foundation of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The OIC pointed to the shared responsibility of defending Jerusalem and working towards returning it under the sovereignty of a free and independent Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the 1967 borders.
They also praised and supported Palestine's efforts to rally international community responsibility, implement international law and hold the occupation accountable for its war crimes and genocide, and to rectify the historical prejudices faced by the Palestinian people. (end)
