Amman, July 10 (Petra) - Correlation One, a global workforce development platform, has launched "Tech for Jobs," a training and employment program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The initiative aims to create economic opportunities for 4,000 Jordanians by offering education and professional development in data analysis and connecting participants with international companies for remote job opportunities. Additionally, USAID will fund an impact evaluation study through a randomized control trial conducted by the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Tech for Jobs has three primary objectives. The first is empowering women and youth by equipping them with essential skills, thereby promoting Jordan's progress toward prosperity and stability. The second is attracting regional and global employers to Jordan to support the government's vision of the Kingdom becoming a hub for digital talent in the Middle East. The third is collecting, analyzing, and reporting insights to enhance USAID's knowledge base and attract more international, regional, and local employers.
Richard Chen, director of USAID's Office of Economic Development and Energy in Jordan, expressed hope that this model will be expanded, replicated, and increased in scope to achieve greater impact and provide more job opportunities for women in Jordan.
The program aligns with two of USAID's goals in Jordan: fostering the comprehensive growth of the private sector by improving its competitiveness in the global digital economy, and increasing women's workforce participation.
This initiative represents an important step in a mission to democratize access to data-driven jobs, said Correlation One co-founder and co-CEO Sham Mustafa. "By providing 4,000 Jordanians with the necessary data analysis skills, we are enhancing their employment opportunities while contributing to Jordan's vision of becoming a leading hub for digital talent in the region."
