Doha: Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), HE sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, attended today the departure ceremony of the Qatari security forces, heading to the French Republic to participate in securing the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which will be held from July 26 to August 11.
The participation of the Qatari security forces in this event underscores the strength of the growing strategic partnership between the State of Qatar and the French Republic, particularly in the security fields, and comes as part of an administrative agreement on security cooperation signed between the two countries last February.
The agreement was co-signed by the Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and the Interior and Overseas Minister of the French Republic HE Gerald Darmanin.
The Qatari security forces participate in the security operations with personnel representing professional security groups, units and teams, alongside logistics teams. The participation underlines the expertise the Qatari security forces have internalized in safeguarding major global events, signifying the enduring legacy of Qatar and the world.
