Amman, July 4 (Petra) - The King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) on Thursday launched the 9th edition of Tariqi project (My Way), which aims to provide practical and technical training opportunities to increase Jordan's youth competitiveness to enter the labor market.
According to a KAFD statement, activities of the introductory day within the project's customer service sector, "Taster Day," embarked on at the Business Development Centre (BDC) for the first batch about implementation stages, attended by the fund's Director, Mazen Tablat, and BDC CEO, Naif Estitieh.
Tablat stressed the importance of the project in providing job opportunities for youth by developing their skills and abilities, which is reflected "positively and effectively" in contributing to national efforts to reduce the unemployment problem, in partnership with the Kingdom's private sector.
The project, which is currently being implemented in strategic partnership with the British King's Trust International, in cooperation with the BDC, targets the Kingdom's sectors of communications and information technology, insurance, retail, and banking sector, the statement said.
The statement also added that training activities focus on the health sector, hospitality, logistics services, embedded systems using the MicroPython language, green economy-renewable energy, and financial technology.
The project, which began its implementation in 2015, successfully raised capabilities of 945 alumni to enter the labor market and provide 503 job opportunities.
