Dr. Muhammad Zubair Bhatti, a urologist, explains to TNN that skin diseases become prevalent in summer because the sun's rays are particularly harsh. This directly impacts the skin, causing common problems such as pigmentation, facial blemishes, and acne. Many women prefer staying indoors to avoid sun exposure, but this is not a viable solution, especially for working women who cannot avoid going outside.

Dr. Bhatti advises that women should use sunblock during the summer to protect their sensitive skin. He also emphasizes that young children's skin is even more delicate. Excessive bathing and direct sunlight should be avoided. Instead, dress children in light clothing and keep them in the shade to protect them from sun exposure.

Excessive washing during the hot season can dry out the skin, causing irritation and making hair rough and damaged. Increasing zinc levels in the body can help protect both skin and hair. Doctors recommend that sunscreen should not be applied to children under six months of age.

Dr. Bhatti further notes that women often use various creams to protect their skin without consulting a doctor, but these treatments are generally ineffective. Consulting a dermatologist is crucial for proper skin care.

Increased heat and humidity during summer cause the skin's oil glands to produce excess oil, leading to dullness, breakouts, and acne. Moisturizing the skin is essential to prevent dryness and irritation. Regular moisturizing can help reduce acne by protecting the skin from inflammation and breakouts.

Proper cleansing and moisturizing after a long day are vital to eliminate heat and humidity from the skin. Failing to do so can result in oil and sweat accumulation, inviting acne. Using sunblock and gentle skincare practices are crucial for maintaining healthy skin.

Dr. Bhatti advises against using harsh scrubs, as they can damage the skin. He recommends professional facial treatments designed to clear acne and keep the skin fresh. Consulting a skin specialist is beneficial for treating acne and other skin issues.

Instead of relying on self-made remedies during the summer, it is essential to seek professional advice. Drinking plenty of water and avoiding unnecessary sun exposure are simple yet effective measures to protect your skin during the hot season.
