(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) Last night, terrorists launched a brutal attack using rocket launchers and heavy weapons on the TakhtaBaik checkpost in the Khyber district. The assault led to the tragic deaths of one policeman and one Frontier Constabulary (FC) official.

Preliminary reports indicate that the police successfully foiled the attack after an intense fight, forcing the terrorists to flee under the cover of darkness. A heavy contingent of Khyber Police quickly arrived at the scene, cordoning off the area and initiating a thorough search operation to track down the attackers.

According to police sources, the security personnel were already on high alert. By employing a strategic response from both the TakhtaBaik and Nawab Shah Shaheed checkpoints, they managed to thwart the terrorists' plans, compelling them to retreat.

This morning, the funeral prayer for the fallen police officer, Ijaz Khan, was held with full official honors at Police Lines Khyber. The ceremony included a salute by the police force. DPO Salim Abbas Kalachi, along with other police officers, local dignitaries, and relatives of the martyr, attended the funeral to pay their respects.
