'24 COPA America... Venezuela Beats Jamaica, Ecuador-Mexico Match Ends Scoreless


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, July 1 (KUNA) -- In the Group B final matches of the 2024 COPA America in the US, Venezuela defeated Jamaica by 3-0, while Ecuador and Mexico ended their encounter scoreless.
With the results, Venezuela and Ecuador advanced to the knock off stages in contrast to Mexico and Jamaica both bidding farewell to the tournament.
The first matchup saw Venezuela thrashing Jamaica with three goals, which came through Eduard Bello, Salomon Dondon, and Eric Ramirez in the 49, 56, 85 minutes of the match.
The second match saw Ecuador advancing to further in the tournament via a draw with Mexico, the first qualified to the knock off rounds while latter was eliminated due to goal difference.
Venezuela topped Group B with nine points followed by Ecuador with four, Mexico with also four, and Jamaica with zero points. (end)
