Saudi Arabia Applauds Armenia's Recognition Of Palestine

RIYADH, June 21 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia expressed on Friday, its approval of Armenia's government decision to recognize the state of Palestine, according to a statement from the Saudi Foreign Ministry.
The ministry emphasized that this is an important step in supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The ministry renewed its call to the international community, particularly the permanent members of the UN Security Council that have not recognized the state of Palestine, to take similar steps toward the recognition, and to strengthen international peace and security. (end)
