CBIC Chairman Inaugurates New GST Office Complex In Rohtak

Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and customs (CBIC), inaugurated the newly constructed GST Bhawan in Rohtak on Wednesday.

The modern office complex will serve as the official headquarters for the CGST Rohtak Commissionerate.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Shri Shashank Priya, Member of CBIC, Shri Manoj Kumar Shrivastava, Chief Commissioner of CGST Panchkula Zone, and other senior officials from CBIC and the Rohtak Commissionerate.

Strategically located for easy access, the GST Bhawan is situated in a prime area of Rohtak with excellent connectivity to major districts of Haryana.

Agarwal expressed satisfaction that the project was completed within budget despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, while maintaining high quality standards.

Highlighting the government's commitment to infrastructure development, Agarwal stated that the Ministry of Finance has sanctioned residential and office building projects for CBIC worth around Rs. 4,600 crore over the last 10 financial years.

Shashank Priya, Member of CBIC, acknowledged the improved facilities the new office complex will provide, enabling better service to the increasing number of taxpayers.

Manoj Kumar Shrivastava, Chief Commissioner of CGST Panchkula Zone, expressed pride in the timely completion of the futuristic workspace within the sanctioned budget.

The inauguration of the GST Bhawan in Rohtak during the 'Amrit Kaal' period symbolises the strength of New India and the government's dedication to enhancing infrastructure for efficient tax administration.
