Skill Council For Apparel & Made-Ups Inaugurates Centre Of Excellence In Guwahati
The Apparel, Made-ups & Home Furnishings Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) inaugurated its 5th Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Guwahati, Assam on Thursday.
The new skills centre was officially opened by Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
The state-of-the-art CoE will provide training in areas like industrial engineering, production supervision, fashion sampling, business and marketing for the apparel industry.
It aims to boost skills, innovation and economic development in the North-Eastern region.
"The Guwahati CoE offers cutting-edge technology and an immersive industry experience for students," said Padma Shri Dr A Sakthivel, AMHSSC Chairman. "It will align with government programs to make these opportunities accessible."
Dr. Vijay Kumar Yadav, CEO of AMHSSC, stated the CoE will serve as a hub for projects, internships, workshops and upskilling in latest industry trends. "It will nurture talent and contribute to uplifting Assam's apparel industry," he added.
The inauguration was attended by dignitaries including Dr Kalyan Chakravarthy, Principal Secretary of Assam, and Brig R.K. Singh of the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation.
