(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 4. Azerbaijani ForeignMinister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Turkish Foreign MinisterHakan Fidan as part of a working visit to Gambia, Trend reports citing theAzerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, the satisfaction was expressed with thecurrent high level of allied relations between Azerbaijan andTürkiye, it was emphasized that the Shusha Declaration played therole of a road map for the comprehensive development of cooperationbetween the two countries.
Consensus was expressed that framework mechanisms such as theAzerbaijan-Türkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council,political consultations between ministries of foreign affairs andthe Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation playan important role in ensuring sustainable, stable and long-termcooperation.
Against the backdrop of current geopolitical realities, theimportance of the Middle Corridor in cargo transportation betweenEast and West was discussed.
It was emphasized that the allied relations of Azerbaijan andTürkiye are manifested at multilateral platforms, such as the UN,the Economic Cooperation Organization, the Organization of IslamicCooperation and the Organization of Turkic States, and theimportance of continuing and strengthening coordinated activitiesand mutual support between our fraternal countries was noted.
The Turkish side was informed about the current state of theArmenian-Azerbaijani peace process, the latest events, includingthe results achieved within the framework of theAzerbaijani-Armenian state commission on the delimitation of thestate border.
Other issues of mutual interest were discussed during themeeting.
