In accordance withthe plan approved by the Azerbaijan Defense Minister, ColonelGeneral Zakir Hasanov a series of events on the occasion of theRamadan holiday were held in types of troops, Army Corps,formations, and special educational institutions of the AzerbaijanArmy, Trend reports.
During the events, the memory of the National Leader of theAzerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and Shehids (Martyrs) whosacrificed their lives for the independence, sovereignty, andterritorial integrity of the
Motherland was honored with observing a minute of silence. TheNational Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan accompanied by amilitary orchestra was performed.
Speakers at the events conveyed the Azerbaijan DefenseMinister's congratulations on the Ramadan holiday to the militarypersonnel. The preservation of the historical roots,national-cultural values, and traditions of the Azerbaijani peopleeven in the most difficult periods was emphasized. It was alsohighlighted that the Ramadan holiday, which is a symbol ofspiritual unity, solidarity, and equality among the world'sMuslims, is solemnly celebrated throughout the sovereign territoryof Azerbaijan.
Concert programs with the participation of the teams of the ArmyIdeological and Cultural Center named after Hazi Aslanov werepresented and a group of servicemen who distinguished themselves inmilitary service was awarded at the festive events.
As part of the events, military personnel visited the graves ofShehids, met with the families of Shehids and the wounded, enquiredabout their concerns and wishes, as well as presented holidaygifts.
At the meetings, it was noted that Azerbaijan always paystribute to the memory of Shehids. It was also emphasized thatthanks to the attention and care of Supreme Commander-in-Chief ofthe Armed Forces President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-PresidentMehriban Aliyeva, necessary work on solving concerns and problemsof Shehids' families and relatives is done.
