Iran Summons Pakistani Embassy Officials Over Attacks In Sistan And Baluchistan

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that in response to Pakistan's attacks on a village in Sistan and Baluchistan, they have summoned the Pakistani embassy official in Tehran.
Nasser Khanani, the spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, demanded the summoning of the Pakistani embassy official in Tehran on Thursday, January 18th, to“officially convey Iran's protest and request an explanation from the Pakistani government.”
On Thursday morning, January 18th, the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared that the country had conducted“precise and fully coordinated and targeted” actions against a group known as“Sarimchar,” which is considered a“terrorist” hideout in the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchistan.
This action came one day after the Iranian Revolutionary Guards announced an airstrike on the positions of the“Jaish al-Adl” group on Pakistani soil.
According to the Tasnim News Agency, citing Ahmad Vahidi, the Iranian Interior Minister, at least 9 individuals were killed in the Pakistani attacks near Saravan in Sistan and Baluchistan. He emphasized that“the information received indicates that 4 children, 3 women, and 2 men who were foreign nationals were killed in an explosion that occurred in a village approximately 3-4 kilometres from the Iranian border.”
Additionally, the Islamic Republic of Iran has demanded an“immediate explanation” from Pakistani authorities regarding these attacks, as reported by the IRIB News Agency.
