World Day For Audiovisual Heritage Oct. 27
We may learn about the lives and cultures of people from all around the world through audiovisual archives. Because they reflect the cultural, socioeconomic, and linguistic diversity of our communities, they serve as a priceless testament to our shared history and a vital source of information.
They assist us in developing and understanding the shared reality. For all memory institutions and the general public, protecting this legacy and making sure it is available to the public and future generations is an essential objective.
Since the Qatar National Library (QNL) is a hub for the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), the library is actively working to preserve audiovisual heritage in Qatar through its Himaya program, which trains those in charge of the audiovisual heritage both within the library and throughout the Arab and Middle Eastern region.
