Pakistan Invites Kyrgyzstan To Take Stock Of Its Seaport Opportunities


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 25 . Pakistan's Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani invited Kyrgyz businesses to explore the opportunities provided by Pakistani seaports for advancing trade, Trend reports.

This statement was made during a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Zheenbek Kulubaev. Jilani is on a working visit to Bishkek to participate in the meeting of the Council of Heads of government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.

Jilani expressed Pakistan's interest in developing the region's transit potential. During the meeting, both sides welcomed the upcoming session of the joint Kyrgyz-Pakistani intergovernmental commission, which is scheduled to take place in the near future.

The FMs expressed their interest in high-level visits and the next round of political consultations involving deputy foreign ministers of both countries.

Kulubaev emphasized the need for prompt signing of interdepartmental agreements on cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, education, and the military-technical sector. He noted that signing these agreements would elevate the level of Kyrgyz-Pakistani interstate relations.

The 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of SCO member states will take place in Bishkek on October 26, 2023.
