(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine will not negotiate a ceasefire with Russia as long as Moscow refuses to withdraw from occupied Ukrainian territories.
Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the NSDC, stated this in an interview with Kyodo New , Ukrinform reports.
"There are no negotiations worth having as long as Russia continues to occupy (Ukrainian) territory, including Crimea," said Danilov.
He expressed his belief that the situation will fundamentally change as soon as F-16 fighter jets arrive from the West to strengthen Ukraine's air defenses. At the same time, he said that it was difficult to predict the time needed to regain all territories currently held by Russia.

Noting that Ukraine had informally committed not to use Western-supplied weapons for attacks on Russian soil, Danilov warned that facilities around Moscow could become targets for domestically produced weapons.
The NSDC secretary also dismissed concerns that international attention and support for Ukraine will weaken amid the latest escalation between Israel and Hamas in the Middle East.
“There has been no decrease in communication with the United States and Europe. Cooperation continues, and we get help every day,” he emphasized.
On strengthening ties between Russia and China, Danilov said Moscow had "lost its independence and now has to rely on countries like China, North Korea and Iran" but brushed off the likelihood of a ceasefire brokered by Beijing.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Danilov previously stated that Ukraine will continue to receive long-range ATACMS missiles until it liberates all its territories.
