Automated Radars To Detect Unfastened Seatbelts And Use Of Mobile Phones From September 3

Doha, Qatar: In their effort to make Qatar roads safer, the Ministry of Interior has stated that the radar systems will begin actively monitoring violations such as the use of a mobile phone while driving and not wearing a seatbelt.

This was announced by the General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior on its social media platforms, adding that the automated monitoring will begin on September 3, 2023.

"Starting September 3, 2023, the General Directorate of Traffic will implement automated monitoring for traffic violations of not wearing a seat belt and using a mobile phone while driving," the Ministry said in a statement.

Surveillance measures will be in effect 24/7 to monitor traffic violations. The Ministry also called on motorists to adhere to traffic rules to ensure safety.
