Marshawn Lynch Keith Allison 1000 LAS VEGAS - Aug. 14, 2023 - prlog -- SlamBall, the fast-paced, gravity-defying sport that combines elements of basketball, football, hockey and acrobatics, today announced that longtime NFL star Marshawn Lynch will join John Schriffen and Jon Dorenbos for this week's ESPN broadcast of the SlamBall playoffs, which begin on Tuesday, August 15, at 8:00 p.m. ET/11:00 p.m. ET, live on ESPN2, with the semifinals and championship game take place on Thursday, August 17, at 8:00 p.m. ET/11:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
"Marshawn Lynch stands out as one of the sports world's most distinctive personalities, making him a perfect addition to the SlamBall broadcast booth," said SlamBall co-founder Mason Gordon. "His unfiltered perspective and extensive experience on sports' biggest stages will perfectly complement John Schriffen and Jon Dorenbos, who have been mainstays this season. With this playoff broadcast team, we're confident in elevating the already exhilarating on-court action for our viewers."
Lynch, a 12 year NFL veteran, was selected to the Pro Bowl five times and was a four time All-Pro selection during his career as a running back, helping lead the Seattle Seahawks to the Super Bowl XLVIII title. He twice led the NFL in rushing touchdowns and was selected to the NFL All-Decade team for 2010-20.
Tuesday's quarterfinals will feature the No. 3 seed, the Slashers vs. No. 6 seeded Gryphons, while 4 seed Wrath meet the No. 5 Lava. Those games will be followed by the Slam Dunk Contest with eight participants. Then on Thursday, the semi-finals will have the top seeded and undefeated Mob vs. winner of quarterfinal between No. 4 Wrath and No. 5 Lava, with the No. 2 Buzzsaw vs. winner of quarterfinal between No. 3 Slashers vs. No. 6 Gryphons.
The SlamBall Championship Game will then follow.
