Crimean Political Prisoner Zekiriaiev Sent Back To Isolation Cell


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Crimean Tatar activist, convicted in the "case of Crimean Muslims" Server Zekiriaiev was again imprisoned in a Russian isolation cell.

The wife of the detainee Zarema Zekiriaieva said this to crimean solidarity , Ukrinform reports.

"Each time his term in the isolation ward was extended for 15 days. Then, on April 26, he was placed in the temporary detention center. He stayed there until July 26," the report says.

"He was told that he would not return to the barracks. This means that an isolation cell, a punishment cell (cell-type facility), and a strict detention facility (strict conditions of detention) are his places. The reason is his article, 205.5. I don't know if he received threats [from the management or staff of the colony that he would not return to the barracks], but my husband wrote that," Zekiriaieva added.

Server Zekiryayev is currently being held in penal colony No. 1 in the city of Donskoy, Tula region of Russia.

In October 2017, Russian security forces arrested six residents of Bakhchisarai citizens. These are Timur Ibragimov, Marlen Asanov, Memet Belialov, Seiran Saliev, Server Zekiryayev and Ernes Ametov. The Russian FSB charged them with participation in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization, which is banned in Russia and annexed Crimea.

In September 2020, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, delivered a verdict in the second Bakhchisarai Hizb ut-Tahrir case.
