Gulf Abegs Holds Meetings With Oecd, Ambassadors To Unesco


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Paris, July 13, 2023, SPA -- The Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) met with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the ambassadors of the members states to UNESCO.
The meeting with OECD officials discussed defining the topics to be addressed during the coming period within the cooperation program between the organization and ABEGS at the regional and national levels.
The two sides also discussed means of benefiting from studies and research conducted in the economic and development fields about education and educational policies.
Meanwhile, ABEGS's meeting with the member states' ambassadors to the U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) discussed mechanisms of joint action and coordination of efforts within the U.N. organization's meetings.
The Director of the UNESCO Doha Office for Gulf States and Yemen attended the meeting.
Following the meeting, the Director-General of ABEGS, Dr. Abdulrahman Mohammed Al-Asmi, hailed the bureau's programs and its international relations, affirming readiness to back the efforts of the ambassadors in highlighting the achievements made by member states in the work areas of UNESCO.
For his part, the Director of UNESCO Doha Office praised the joint programs with ABEGS, especially those related to post-Transforming Education Summit and to supporting member states in the field of education.
The ambassadors discussed the efforts related to the file of global common values and supporting efforts of the bureau.
They also highlighted ABEGS's effective role in underlining the achievements made by member states and highlighting the Gulf system.
