Brazilian Cooperative Steps Up Partnership With National Agricultural Research Centre

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - The National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) has emerged as a hub for Brazilian agricultural cooperatives looking to adopt innovative agricultural practices and conduct research on climate change and water-use efficiency including Jordan's non-conventional water-use methodologies.

As part of an initiative to bolster bilateral agricultural ties, a delegation from the Brazilian Agricultural Cooperative Castrolanda visited NARC, following a visit three months earlier by the board of directors of the Brazilian Cooperative Society, led by Marc Miyazaki, according to a statement from NARC.

Director General of NARC Nizar Haddad stressed NARC's readiness to share and exchange the results of scientific research with agricultural bodies and associations.

Haddad highlighted the innovative ideas and pioneering projects that would contribute to expanding prospects of cooperation with Brazilian interest-groups.

During discussions, Haddad and the delegation reviewed potential areas for collaboration and how they could benefit from the Agricultural Innovation Incubator's expertise, the first of its kind in the region, and the National Seed Bank's pivotal role in preserving genetic diversity and biodiversity in Jordan amid climate change.

Eric Peter, chairman of the board of directors of the Brazilian Agricultural Cooperative Castrolanda, expressed his appreciation of the remarkable progress NARC has made among a group of global research institutions specialising in agricultural sector development.

Peter praised the centre's advanced infrastructure, laboratory services, and the role of the Agricultural Innovation Incubator.
